Pittsburgh-North Carolina NFL Draft Prospects

Pittsburgh vs. North Carolina
Meineke Car Care Bowl, Dec. 22
Charlotte, NC
TV: ESPN 4:30pm ET

My last memory of living in Charlotte is actually driving past the stadium as the annual bowl game was being played and I was moving west. Enough of that. This game looks to stack up on the Pittsburgh side when looking at comparisons. When it comes to NFL Draft prospects the scale tips toward the North Carolina Defensive side.

Linebacker Bruce Carter is the one to watch keeping the 2011 NFL Draft in mind. He has decided not to make the jump this year. Focus your eyes on the middle of the Defensive Line though. Defensive Tackle Marvin Austin has not yet declared for the draft although his plan all along when coming to Carolina was to go three and out. The Junior could easily go late first round, early second and we know how good Bowl game showings and workouts can raise stock.

For Pitt you can look for them to try and get the ball to Dorin Dickerson. The red zone target has racked up 10 TDs and could get himself a late draft pick. Quarterback Bill Stull could be one of those decent college quarterbacks that never make it to the NFL. A strong showing and everything going right leading up (or wrong for some other QBs) to the draft are a necessity.
