Rutgers vs. Central Florida
St. Petersburg Bowl, Dec 19th
St. Petersburg, Florida
TV: ESPN 8pm ET
When looking at the NFL Draft prospects in the St. Petersburg Bowl in 2010, watch the Scarlet Knights. The big name in this game will be on the offensive line. Although Left Tackle Anthony Davis says he won’t think about the NFL Draft until after the St. Petersburg Bowl it’s not stopping those watching the watching the prospects from speculation. The guy that some compare to Eugene Monroe could be in the Top 3 Offensive Tackles if he decides to make the leap. Also on the right side of the Offensive line you will find a possible mid to late round choice in Kevin Haslam. For skill positions check out Tim Brown at Wide Receiver. Yeah, he is only 5’8″ but he can make some plays.
Aside from being the best Cornerback in the Big East, Devin McCourty is a monster on Special Teams. Seven blocked kicks in his career. He has a twin brother (Jason, Titans) already in the NFL which would be great for making that transition. Also on the defensive side of the ball for the Scarlet Knights you could see a late rounder in Ryan D’Imperio.
The NFL Draft prospect spotlight for Central Florida will be shining on Defensive Tackle Torrell Troup. The big man clogging up the middle has helped this defense rank #4 in the nation against the run.
